Seven Seconds Deep.
Thanks for dropping in...!
The History:
Seven Seconds Deep originally formed in Dec. 2009 in Manchester New Hampshire, as a culmination between Steve and Marc, who were in two separate bands, and not really going anywhere, for lack of enough musicians to form a line-up.
They always wanted to form an all-instrumental Prog-Rock band, in the same vein as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, The Dregs, and others.
One day, Fate allowed it to transpire:
The original line-up consisted of Steve Baker on Guitar, Marc Celeste on Drums, and a talented Bassist from a well-known Metal band.
After the coming and going of two very talented Bass players within Seven Seconds Deep's first three years, in July of 2012, Seven Seconds Deep secured their newest and agreeably their ultimate bass player, Elliott.
A most proficient and capable 5 -string Bassist, Seven Seconds Deep feels that THIS is their permanent Bass Player, as he comes from a similar background and concerns.
Though their studio work is well-received, they are known best for their "LIVE" performances.
The Band:
Steve comes from a Classically-trained background, and grew up listening to Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin, and other Classical Masters. Later, he would discover John Petrucci, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and other such Masters and he learned their styles as well. Steve has been noted in the past for his hand dexterity and techniques as he delivers searing Lead after Lead.
The main songwriter for the band, Steve is responsible for the band's first six songs, as well as the majority of their songs in general.
Elliott comes from a 70's Prog-Rock background as well as Jazz-Fusion, but he was actually raised on Classical greats, just as Steve was.
His influences include- but are not limited to- John Mclaughlin and other notable Jazz-Fusion Masters, as well as early training in Classical Music; specifically Bach and Beethoven...For Bass inspiration, Elliott cites Jaco Pastorius, Stu Hamm, John Myung, John Entwhistle, and Tony Levin, among his Mentors.
Marc grew up listening to Rush, Yes, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchrestra, and other such 70's Prog and Fusion bands, as well as extensive 70's Classic Rock legends. He listened to Billy Cobham, Dave Weckl, Neil Peart, Dave Garibaldi, Steve Gadd, Mike Portnoy, and other such Masters along the way.
The Future :
Together, these three musicians share musical ideas and influences as diverse as the universe itself, yet as common as the elements themselves. The chemistry is apparent from the first time you see them play "Live".
Their common musical goal is to write and perform music which pleases their fans, stuns their critics, and satisfies their collective need to put out the best sound they can to as wide and diverse an audience as their backgrounds themselves.
So please...browse through this website and take in the photos from their early beginnings..Listen to music samples of some of their work.... Check back every so often, as there is always new photos, songs, videos, etc. !!
